The weekend is here and I’m sure your schedules are packed with kids activities and your never-ending to-do list. Despite the lack of time, I am going to give you a quick but extremely efficient workout that will burn up to 360 calories in just 4 minutes.

The secret is called Tabata Training. Tabata training is a High Intense Interval Training (HIIT) workout that last  4 minutes. You go all out for 20 seconds, rest for 10 seconds and complete 8 rounds. The key is to choose a high intense exercise and push yourself to the max for each 20 second round. Because you are working at such a high intensity with little rest, your body has to work very hard to keep up. This means you will be burning more calories even after you are done. This is called the “after-burn effect.” and a key component to burning fat.

Here is your challenge for the weekend.. We did this in class and everyone “LOVED” it….well my definition of love! 😉

Burpee Tabata-4 MInutes

20 second of Burpees/ 10 second rest. Repeat 8 times
